SigEp recently spearheaded Light the Night, a philanthropy effort g held in cooperation with several student and university mental health organizations, as well as several performance groups. The purpose of the event was to raise awareness of the mental health issue at Penn in an open forum and to raise money for the Mental Health Association of Southeastern Pennsylvania. Through sale of wristbands and generous donations, SigEp raised more than $1,000 for the organization and had 100+ guests at the event in the Van Pelt Library amphitheater.

Groups such as Inspiration, an organization that concentrates on music written and/or performed by artists of African descent with the purpose to educate and entertain, put on spectacular performances, and other students delivered speeches and personal stories that were dedicated to the topic of mental health. Overall, this event was extremely beneficial to the greater Penn community and exhibited a positive and unified effort on behalf of the brothers of Sigma Phi Epsilon.
