The 53rd Grand Chapter Conclave was recently held in Dallas, TX. Below is a brief perspective from Jovonnie Gonzales, one of the brothers that attended the event. Please check our upcoming release of the Delta Penn Newsletter this fall for a more in-depth report on our largest annual gathering of SigEps.

Jovonnie Gonzales writes:
"Conclave hosts men of completely different backgrounds, but with one thing in common: they all share a love for Sigma Phi Epsilon. In my short time in Dallas I learned about the true meaning of brotherhood on a larger scale. I learned my voice matters. And I made new friendships that will last a lifetime. From day one you hit the ground running. We were shown the timelessness of the ritual, participated in legislation, and still had time to share ideas of what works at each individual chapter. It was amazing to meet a completely new brother, yet feel as if we have known each other for ages. In short, Dallas showed me firsthand how this fraternity is much larger than any individual or group and how the fraternity will continue to create men that hold virtue, diligence, and brotherly love above everything else."

Jovonnie is currently a junior, class of 2015, who acted as Penn Delta's delegate to Conclave. Also in attendance was Carlos Diaz, a sophomore class of 2016. Jovonnie is on the brotherhood development committee for the chapter and Carlos is on the recruitment committee. Alumni attending the event were Conrad Eberstein '65, Brett Danko '90 and Doug Roberts '83.
